Storyline
Shattered is a 1991 American psychological thriller film written and directed by Wolfgang Petersen, based on the novel by Richard Neely. The film stars Tom Berenger, Greta Scacchi, Bob Hoskins, Joanne Whalley and Corbin Bernsen.
Dan Merrick (Tom Berenger) and his wife, Judith (Greta Scacchi), have a car accident. Judith is thrown free, but Dan is injured, his face disfigured. He comes out of a coma with amnesia, full of general knowledge but completely ignorant of his own family life. Slowly, he begins to put the pieces back together, but there are troubling memories that don't mesh with the stories he's being told, and he hires private detective Gus Klein (Bob Hoskins) to help unravel the mystery of his past.
